Steel tanks are the most common type of oil tank, with metal thickness of 2.5mm (12 Gauge) these tanks are good for 15 years outside and 20 years inside.

Bottom Outlet Tanks

Bottom outlet tanks also are made of steel, but the valve comes out of the bottom of the tank and not the end, this type of tank is good for 20 years outside and 25 years inside.
